I am Kathy Mallon's cousin and I want to thank you for the beautiful tribute you have done for my cousin Joe Mallon. And I want to thank the Westmont Fire Department and the Ladies and all of the firemen for the beautiful reception after Joe's service - it was wonderful and our family appreciates what you have done for Kathy and the children. I always considered Joe to be as much my cousin as Kathy is. Joe loved, LOVED being a fireman. Many a time when I was over visiting with them and Kathy and I would be in the kitchen - Joe would be in the living room watching... Backdraft..., and her and I would just smile when we heard the music playing... (and if it wasn't Backdraft - there was always Irish music playing). Fire service was very important to Joe and he was very proud of his service, as he should have been. But even more important was his love for my cousin Kathy and their 3 beautiful children. He will be missed terribly in the Hayes family..., and I will miss my cousin Joe.
Again, thank you Westmont FD
Sincerely,
Donna Laird ("Dee" as Joe called me)

As Joe's oldest sister, I would like to express a thank you for your beautiful web site and for all of the generous things all of the members and Ladies Auxiliary have extended to our family. We are very appreciative and will never forget you.
I know Joe enjoyed working with all of you and with all of the fire departments that he belonged. We, his three sisters, nieces, great nieces along with Kathy and children really miss him, especially during this holiday season. Again, thank you all for all of your support.

I want to extend my thanks for the beautiful article that you wrote for Joe on your website and also for the support and assistance that you provided to me and my family. We are missing Joe terribly, as I'm sure you are. He loved the fire service and all of his fellow firefighters. The fire service was such an important part of Joe's life, and even though I would complain about the amount of time he would devote to it at times, in retrospect I would not change a thing. All of you, including the Ladies' Auxiliary, have been so supportive and generous during this difficult time in our lives. And even though Joe is gone, I know he will not be forgotten, and that I will still be able to consider you all our extended "family". Thank you again for everything. Gratefully, Kathy Mallon and Family

Very nice Web site. Very professionally done. My compliments to all who put this together.
Excellent work on the website. The historical photos are priceless. I have a couple of old photos you may want to scan (1940's - all equipment in front of fire station and another of your 1971 International Travelall ambulance).
Stay safe,

A fascinating insight into the character of a volunteer fire company.
Awesome site! You guys put a lot of work into the historical background of this organization with the photos and information. That takes a lot of work. I was a member of the committee that worked with Firehouse Solutions to build our site, so I know how much time & effort was put into this! Great job!
