Around 0415 hours Task Force 16 (Station 16, Ladder 15-1, Engine 1132, Squad 5-1) were dispatched to Wayne Terrace Apartments Apartment C-15 for a reported apartment fire.
Collingswood Captain Fox and Engine 1613 arrived on location and found a 2 story garden style apartment building with smoke and fire visible from the first floor . Collingswood Chief Davis arrived and transmitted the "All-Hands".
Engine 1613 stretched off with a 2 1/2" handline with the 1 3/4" high rise kit for fire suppression. Engine 1132 arrived on location and stretched a back up handline and went to the 2nd floor to check for extension. Ladder 15-1 responded under the command of Captain Young and upon arrival laddered the building and opened up.
Engine 1613 reported heavy smoke and fire in the apartment and made an aggressive interior attack. Engine 1132 reported heavy smoke on the second floor with no fire extension. With no extension noted, Command placed the fire under control.
