| Fire hydrant flushing is scheduled to begin on Friday, October 22nd, 2010 for a period of approximately 30 days. Flushing will be conducted Monday through Friday between the hours of 10:00 PM and 3:00 AM.
Periodically, residents will see Haddon Township Water Department personnel releasing water from hydrants. Hydrant flushing is necessary to test the hydrants to make sure adequate flow and pressure is available. Flushing verifies the proper operation of hydrants and valves to maintain firefighting capability. Flushing is also done to remove sediment from the water mains in order to maintain water clarity and quality in the distribution mains.
During flushing hours (10:00 PM to 3:00 AM) please avoid using dishwahers, washing machines, and running hot water.
