In the 118 year history of the Westmont Fire Company No. 1, there have only been 12  men fortunate enough to serve as Chief of The Department. Elected by the active members of the company, the Chief is responsible for selecting his Assistant Chiefs and Officers, subject to the approval of the membership.

John Medes, an Assistant Chief from 1994 through 2007, and a member since 1978 was elected in January of 2007 to serve as the 12th Chief of the Westmont Fire Company.
