Ryan holds the South Jersey Lifeguard Championship trophy high in the air on August 12, after helping the Avalon Beach Patrol capture their tenth team championship 11-10 over defending champion Brigantine. Finnegan captured the singles rowing championship, by a mere two seconds, in the final event of the night. Finnegan won Avalon's tenth South Jersey singles rowing championship. The South Jersey Lifeguard Championship is the ultimate lifeguard challenge in Southem New Jersey and has been conducted since 1924.
