Over the last couple of weeks, Members of the Westmont Fire Company have been training in Truck Company Operations in relation to Roof Ops. Members had a thorough saw overview which entailed which saws to use for different functions, basic operations of the saws, and saw maintenance. The last two weeks Safety and Survival Training, LLC was at the Firehouse for a two week Roof Operations Course. The first week was a classroom portion which was an overview of Roof Operations, Strategy and Tactics for Roof Operations and a safety overview for Roof Operations. Last night was the second of the two nights and Safety and Survival brought their Roof Simulator to the Firehouse for practical operations. Members ascended the simulator and practiced opening up flat roofs with using different types of saws. We would like to thank Safety and Survival Training for the excellent training opportunity.
