Gloucester City 5th Alarm

At 0420 hours Engine 1512 was dispatched to Amspec Chemical in Gloucester City for a building fire on the 2nd Alarm. Gloucester City Squad 5-1 and Battalion 504 was on location reporting a 300x300 3-story building with heavy fire condition throughout.
Engine 1512 responded under the command of Captain John Young with a staffing of four. While 1512 was enroute command transmitted the 3rd Alarm. Upon arrival of Engine 1512 they were placed in a relay with other mutual aid companies to bring water to the fire scene from Broadway and Jersey Avenue which required Engine Companies to drop almost 5000 feet of 4" LDH supply lines to supply Ladder 926 (Deptford).
Engine 1512 worked with Engine 1522 (West Collingswood Heights), Engine 3443 (Brooklawn), Squirt 2-1 (Haddon Heights), Engine 1132 (Pennsauken), Engine 8 (Camden). Command then requested 4th and 5th Alarms brining the 5" Strike Team. A Fireboat from Philadelphia was also requested. Haz-Mat 13 was called to the scene to monitor air qualities on the fire ground.
Companies starting breaking down around 0800 hours with 1st alarm companies remaining on scene most of the day.
