Geneva Avenue Garage Fire

At 1425 Hours Station 15-1 and BLS 1557 were dispatched to 85 Geneva Avenue for a reported garage fire.

Squirt 15-1 responded under the command of Captain Dan Devitt at 1427 hours and reported to County Communications they had a visible column of smoke from the Firehouse.

Squirt 15-1 arrived on location and reported smoke showing from a detached garage. Squirt 15-1 stretched an 1 ¾” hand line for fire suppression. Upon entering the garage, crews found heavy fire conditions on the interior.

Ladder 15-1 responded under the command of Captain Bob Krupinski and upon arrival started to open up the garage for the interior crews.

The bulk of the fire was quickly knocked down. The fire was placed under control at 1441 hours. Companies remained on scene to provide overhaul and hitting hot spots after the Haddon Township Fire Marshal was completed with his investigation.
