White Horse Pike Dryer Fire

Task Force 15-3 (Station 15-1, Squad 16, BLS 1557) was dispatched to 625 White Horse Pike to the Coin-Op Laundromat for the Building.

15101 and Battalion 15 were responding and were advised by County Radio that Police were on location with a smoke condition in the building. They reported a fire in a dryer possibly extinguished.

15101 and Battalion 15 arrived to find a two story taxpayer with an apartment above with smoke on the interior of the business. Hydrant was on the A/B corner of building. Squad 16 arrived to make entry through front door of the business.

Fire Co. spoke with Haddon Twp. Police to find Woodlynne Police passing by was flagged down by people at the Laundromat reporting a fire in a dryer. A Woodlynne Police Officer found a fire in a dryer and utilized the fire extinguisher from inside the Laundromat to extinguish the fire.

Squad 16 was checking for extension. Squirt 15-1 arrived on East Collingswood Ave side of the building. Squad 16 forced door to get to the rear of the dryers to secure utilities. Squirt 15-1 along with Squad 16 started ventilation of building. Ladder 15-1 arrived on location and assisted with ventilation.

15101 called for HTFM 15 to respond. Fire Co. removed front cover off dryer to check for any extension. HTFM 15 arrived. 15101 placed fire under control and reduced the assignment to Squirt 15-1 and HTFM. Squirt 15-1 tried to make entry into upstairs apartment. Resident for rear apartment showed up and a check of his apartment was clear.

Owner of the business showed up and gained access to the second floor apartment and basement to check. Companies found a very light haze in second floor apartment. Windows were opened up for natural ventilation to be performed. Basement area was found clear. Fire Co. turned scene over to HTFM15.
