West Collingswood Extension Dwelling Fire

At 1527 Hours, Task Force 16 (Squad 16, Squad 51, Engine 1132, Ladder 15-1, BLS 16, BLS 1557) were dispatched to 1107 Grant Avenue for a reported dwelling fire.

Ladder 15-1 responded under the command of Captain Dan Devitt with a staffing of 5. While companies were responding they were given the report of a possible kitchen fire at the location.

Squad 16 arrived on location and had heavy smoke showing from the 1st floor and was stretching a hand line for fire attack.

Ladder 15-1 arrived after Squad 16 and the crew split with one half placing ground ladders and opening up and the other half starting a primary search of the dwelling.

Interior crews reporting a working kitchen fire with heavy smoke throughout. Interior crews found hoarding conditions in the interior and Ladder 15-1 reported that the primary search of the interior of the dwelling was negative.

Squad 51 and Engine 1132 arrived and a water supply was established for Squad 16. Companies opened up to remove smoke from the dwelling. The Local FM was requested to the scene by Command.

With no extension noted to the upper floors, the fire was placed under control.
