On Tuesday, May 23rd, the Camden County Hero Scholarship Committee presented Westmont Fire Company No.1 Probationary Firefighter Jessica Bennett with the 2017 Public Safety Scholarship for Fire Service. Scholarships are awarded each year to graduating high school seniors who are actively serving, or have a parent actively serving Camden County in a public safety capacity. One scholarship is awarded in each Public Safety discipline (Police, Fire, EMS). Applications are judged on the basis of S.A.T. scores, class standing, citizenship and family financial need.
Jessica started out as an Explorer with Westmont Fire Company No.1 and has been a full member of the company since the beginning of this year. She is currently attending Firefighter I classes at the Camden County Fire Academy.
