Crystal Lake Avenue "All Hands"

At 2328 Hours Station 15-1 and BLS 1557 were dispatched to 309 West Crystal Lake Avenue for a reported building fire.

Battalion 15 (Assistant Chief Tessing) and Squirt 15-1 responded at 2320 hours under the command of Captain Dan Devitt with a staffing of four.
Squirt 15-1 and Battalion 15 were given the report that Police were on location reporting a working fire with possible people trapped and added Virtua Medics to the assignment.

Squirt 15-1 arrived on location at 2332 hours and reported heavy smoke showing on the 2nd floor and transmitted the "All Hands" signal bringing Squad 16 (Collingswood FD) and Squad 1413 (Haddonfield FD). Squirt 15-1 stretched off one 1 ¾" hand line for fire suppression.

Ladder 15-1 arrived under the command of Lieutenant Matt Medes with a staffing of 6 and upon arrival assisted Squirt 15-1 and started to place ground ladders around the dwelling and open up.

Interior crews on the 2nd floor found zero visibility and high heat conditions going down the hallway and found heavy fire conditions in a 2nd floor bedroom.

Engine 1512 arrived on location under the command of Captain John Young with a staffing of four and established a water supply for Squirt 15-1.

At the 10 minute mark, Command reported a single family dwelling with a doctor's office on the 1st floor with heave fire conditions on the 2nd floor.
Interior crews from Ladder 15-1 and Squad 16 started the primary search of the dwelling.

At the 20 minute mark, Command reported 2 hand lines in operation with the bulk of the fire knocked down on the 2nd floor with the primary and secondary searched negative.

Command placed the fire under control at 2349 hours.

Companies remained on scene until 0243 hours doing overhaul and assisting the Haddon Township Fire Marshal's Office.

The fire is under investigation by the Haddon Township Fire Marshals Office.
